Managing a blog has never been so easy. Content management systems like WordPress, Open Cart make it easy to remove, edit, and add articles to the site’s blog section. Today we decided to describe in detail the process of publishing a WordPress article on our site.
WordPress Site View
Before we get started, let’s look at the admin panel of a WordPress site. In the left side you will find a site navigation consisting of menus such as Home, Posts, Files and more. What matters to us is the Publications tab with its subsections:
By clicking “All”, you have the opportunity to see all blog posts so far.
After this click, you will see all the articles published so far, their author, the date they were published and other information. However, we are most interested in the add section.
Add a post
After clicking “Add”, an editor window opens in front of you. In this window, all the processes of posting happen. Below “New Post” is the box to write the title of your article. Below is the editor for the content of the article.
The editor gives you various options for formatting the text, as well as adding images and links from the article to specific pages. You can choose the font, size, and customization of the headings in the article. To the right is the Format section, in which you choose the format of the new publication.
Below in the posting page you will find the “categories” section and the “labels” section. The Categories section contains the different content categories on your site. From here, you can choose which categories belong to the article you are about to upload. In the labels section, you can put a few words that are fundamental to the content you are about to post.
Publication of the article
If you have already written the text, you have selected the right pictures to complement it, you have selected the categories you want and the main picture, then it is time to post. Before this step, we recommend that you review the content again and make sure that the rules of readability and SEO are complied with. Published text should contain subheadings, each paragraph should not exceed 150 words. Also try to avoid sentences over 20 words.
In the picture we have surrounded the important buttons at this stage. If you click Save, the post you wrote and edited so far will remain saved. So you can edit it further whenever you want.
The Browse button lets you see what the post would look like when you publish it. So you can see again if certain parts of the text need editing and do it.
Below these two buttons there are additional publishing tools. Of interest is the Publish line. From here, you can set the exact day and time at which the selected article is published. If you know when your users are most active, you can provide them with content right now.
Once you are sure your post is ready, all you have to do is to click Publish and the article will appear on your blog.
